  • For a funny hook I asked why it is important to know this information. I then showed a video from Family Chantel where they wore the wrong thing at an event in the Philippines
  •  I then showed pictures of outfits in Spain and had the students say what they saw. I then told the event where they wore this clothing (example: wedding)
  • I then had them go into Jamboard and each one of them added pictures and created a slide about their style. At the end I had some of them explain their style/clothing (link to jamboard with student work is in slide 6)
  • I asked them can style change? Then I showed them a picture of me now and in high school (so many uggs!) They thought it was funny.
  • The I asked them what was their style in middle school?
  • We then watched to videos about 100 years of beauty in Spain, then here and had them in groups write similarities and differences. At the end each group shared what they wrote
  • We then watched a what is beautiful to you video from Spain
  • To end students wrote on a sticky note what is beauty to them and put it on a poster
  • First, I reviewed when and what is the past participle
  • Then we did practice where I showed them a sentence and they had to guess the type of past participle
  • Then I showed the students the irregular forms: Need to remember toes! (muerto, abierto…)
  • Then I used an online wheel, and the students came up to spin and had to translate the sentence from English to Spanish using past participle
  • The next activity I explained they would news reporters
  • For this activity the students went to Jamboard where each group had to pick a storm from a Spanish speaking country and report about it. I gave them the links to the authentic sources. They could use pictures and had to have at least four sentences/descriptions using past participle. (link to jamboard with student work is on slide 5)
  • At the end each group presented their storm like a news reporter
  • The last activity was trivia questions about past participle, storm vocabulary, and translations. They needed to survive the apocalypse. I had them at tables work together to answer each question before the time went out
