A course which shaped the way I think about cybersecurity was criminology. In this course, we were taught the motivations, causes and thought processes behind criminal actions. This included learning the theories, philosophies and experts which shaped the field of criminology and cybersecurity.
One project which displays all the knowledge taught throughout the course was a research report that required students to analyze a major criminal case through the lens of criminology. This researched developed my understanding of the field of criminology and improved my ability to analyze situations through a human lens, rather than strictly technological. I chose the case of Ted Bundy where I applied classical theory.
