This course was the introduction of basic operations in major Linux distros for cybersecurity. This was done by graphical interface and command-line interface. Furthermore, we learned about the installation and configuration, file systems management, shell scripting and authentication.
This course was the first time I have been formally introduced to Linux. Getting to understand the different operating systems through hands on activities has been key to my success in cybersecurity. Having the competency to navigate through the many distros and operating systems is one of the most important aspects of cybersecurity. In document below is an example of the application of the concepts taught in this class. The objective of this assignment was to master basic network configuration through the use of a virtual machine while utilizing the Kali Linux distro.
