When I was deciding who to reach out too, I wanted to connect with a sports reporter, so I chose Ellis L. Williams a beat reporter for the Carolina Panthers. Ellis Williams grew up in Minnesota and went to school for journalism at UW-Eau Claire. I just found his twitter and sent a message, I also seen his LinkedIn to get a little bit more information. Mr. Williams responded to me within the day accepting the task with being my penpal connection. I tried to come off as someone just trying to learn and get some tips for how to go about the industry but I also kept it short because no one wants to read long text on twitter. We ended up connecting and chatting for about 30 mins talking about how he got to be where he is at. Mr. Williams was very knowledgeable and even answered a few questions that I had. He has been in the sports industry since 2016 so he will be in the industry for a while.
