In this project, I teamed up with two other Engineering students and two Education students to develop a lesson plan and presentation for 4th grade students. This presentation was to incorporate topics discussed in our MET 330 Fluid Dynamics class, and present them in a way that is relatable to 4th grade students. On the day of the presentation, 24 students were involved. The topic we discussed was Bernoulli’s Principle, and how it relates to an airplane’s ability to lift off the ground and remain airborne. As part of the discussion, we provided every student with a small balsa wood Jetfire airplane, which we helped them assemble and gave every student a chance to test their airplane’s ability to fly. Afterwards, we provided a simple quiz as a means test engagement and knowledge of the presentation.
