My goal in attending ODU is to expand my career opportunities.  I have over a decade of experience working in tool and die and injection molding, with knowledge in CNC machining and programming, mold repair and maintenance, and custom fabrication.  Combining those physical skills with the theoretical knowledge gained from finishing my degree, I hope to open up more opportunities for myself going forward and join an engineering group to keep creating new things.

Heat transfer in particular will be useful to me if I continue in the same manufacturing field, as aspects of heat transfer are key to successful injection molding and mold design in general.  The processes and skills I learn in this class will directly transfer to professional use in the injection molding field.
