Interpretive, Interpersonal, and Presentational Modes of Communication
Exploring Culture
The culture sections in our textbook provides opportunities for us to learn about more a specific Spanish speaking country based off of the topics in the unit. This section is always interesting to do because you never know what the results will be like and you can compare them to your own countries results! It is really fascinating to be able to learn about the world around you and all of the different cultures.

Engaging in Communities
In order to help me better understand the Spanish content or if I just have a simple conjugation question, my tutor recommended this website to me for help! This semester it has helped me better understand the difference between the future tense and the conditional. In the future, I will use this website with my tutor to help me continue to learn and grow as a speaker/writer/listener.

Interpersonal Communication
Talkabroad is an interesting form of homework assignment because it allows you to be able connect with a Spanish speaker and learn more about what they have to say while also explaining your own culture to them. It is important to connect with people from different cultures because it helps you to learn and grow as a person by gaining a better understanding of the world around you as well as bringing everyone all together. I enjoy doing these assignments because the partners are usually very nice and ready to help you say what you need to say efficiently.
Talkabroad 2:
Presentational Speaking
In our textbook, we had multiple opportunities to speak and learn how to pronounce words better in conversations. Added down below is our speaking homework, or homefun as my professor likes to say, from unit 16.
Presentational Writing
From what we learned in class and in our textbook from Unidad 15 we had to be able to tell an interpretation of a historical event. For my story, I talked about the Milwaukee Bucks winning the championship for the first time in 50 years back in 2021 against the Phoenix Suns. I liked this project because I was able to talk about something that I am interested in and share it with the class.

Interpretive Listening
For this unit in our textbook, we watched and listened to videos and audios in order to help us better understand the abbreviations that are being used in Spanish. I thought this unit was very interesting because it helps us to better understand the informal ways to speak in Spanish speaking countries.

Interpretive Reading
There were a lot of reading activities in our textbook. The one that stuck out to me the most was “Finita la Gringa.” We had to answer questions and write an interpretation of the story in our class to help us better understand Finita’s story as well as being able to tell our own stories. It is important to be able to understand all the different perspectives and opinions about events.
