My name is Mia Davis, I’m a current student at ODU, expecting to graduate in 2025. I graduated from TCC with an Associates in Liberal Arts. My specialization is Spanish language and culture, and I’m hoping to portray my skills that I’ve accumulated over the past 4 years of my education.
In the future I plan to be an interpreter and work as either a Spanish teacher for 9-10th graders, or focus on interpreting and translating services within the CIA or volunteering for Peace Corps. With the LeADERS program, I’ve gained crucial knowledge on the key components of what it takes to succeed as a spanish translator, focusing on research in various technologies for teaching a foreign language, entrepeneurship in pertains to international business in latin american countries, and being able to effectively structure my thoughts on world issues addressing the latinx community. From the experience I’ve gained over the course of my education, it has helped me develop a better sense of drive for creating equal opportunities for spanish speakers and broaden the knowledge of spanish learners on the riveting culture, access to sustainable platforms of learning, and how spanish impacts them outside of the classroom.
