An organization can gain many benefits from using the NIST Cybersecurity Framework. The Framework has a complex system of multiple layers which we will get into later. Even though it is complex it is simplified in a way it is easy to use. The Framework is very versatile and adaptable. It can be used by any organization to fulfill their needs. The best advantage of using the NIST Cybersecurity Framework is the risk management security you receive from it. From the security system in the framework it is made up of 3 components: the core, implementation tiers, and profile. This is the complex part I was talking about but it’s easy to understand. Within the core framework we have functions, categories, subcategories, and informative references. The big part is the tier list. This is why the benefit of security comes in. Depending on the tier will define the risk management it takes. There are a total of 4 tiers. Tier 1 is partial, Tier 2 is risk informed, Tier 3 is repeatable, Tier 4 is adaptive. Personally at my future workplace. I want to be a cybersecurity analyst. So I would use it as a risk assessment of monitoring security systems.
