According to the Social Media Disorder Scale I have been living under a rock for the majority of my life. Now this is actually surprising to no one I know because I am a digital immigrant. Social Media did not become a thing until after I was an adult. I have social media accounts created for family and friends, but they are dormant for the most part and monitored thanks to the State Department data breach that gave my entire security clearance data packet to China. Even though I am not an active participant of social media, the world around me is. My children and my grandchildren all seem to live and breath it. I can see the risk factors, and I advise them as best I can. But for me I think I will stick to in person hugs.
