The four majors that I selected that are also related to cybersecurity are Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Criminal Justice, and Information systems & technology. To start off with Computer Science this is related in many ways to cybersecurity. Computer science is more of a broad field of the study of computers and computing, but cybersecurity is a subfield of computer science. Cybersecurity specialists rely on their understanding of computers and networking which comes from understanding some computer science classes. They both also apply analytical skills and look at problems from different angles to figure out the issue that has occurred to be successful. Computer Engineering is another one that could relate in some ways to cybersecurity. Cybersecurity can involve engineering hardware and software. Computer engineering is to create new hardware and software with knowledge from computer science which then relates all three of them together. The next one is Criminal Justice, this is related because cybersecurity depending on the career in the field you want to get can deal with the law. This can make cybersecurity an act of law enforcers of the criminal justice system. Also criminal justice deals with security policies that could end up relating back to cybersecurity which a specialist in that field could then come into play to help with decisions or the case that has occurred. Lastly Information systems & technology. This is related to cybersecurity because both fields focus on knowing the knowledge of technology dealing with security in a way. Both of these fields also have to ensure that IT systems are functionally properly and that the new work system is all up to date at all times. These both also deal with you having great critical thinking skills and problem solving skills to get the job done that is required. They both play a role in preventing security weaknesses. Overall these are the four other majors that I think play a similar role in cybersecurity.
