Personal Reflection

One thing in this class I learned that applies to what I wish to do in life was Monoclonal Antibodies. I aspire to become a surgical oncologist so monoclonal antibodies will be a very relevant topic in my studies. Writing a paper on these antibodies also helped me understand how their binding can affect cells and what it does for the body. It was interesting to read about different types of monoclonal antibodies and what cancer treatments they are used for. Pembrolizumab is a popular drug used for the treatment of breast cancer and it was the drug I had heard the most of in regards to cancer treatment, so I chose to write my paper on it.
