Learning about a tripeptide called Arginylglycylaspartic acid or RGD grabbed my interest as I am very interested in pharmacodynamics. Since RGD is responsible for preventing blood clots from forming, multiple medications have been produced using this acid to reduce the risk of strokes or heart attacks. There is also research underway to see the effects of RGD preventing integrins from forming new bloods vessels to supply nutrients to unknown tumors.
