How does cyber technology impact interactions between offenders and victims?

In my opinion cyber technology’s biggest impact on the interaction between offenders and victims is the ability to remain anonymous. The offender has the ability to keep their identity hidden while they can gather and access all of their victim’s information. The next biggest impact in my opinion would be that the offender can be anywhere in the world and still have access to their victim. The ability to connect with people from all over the world has opened the doors to international cybercrime. This causes problems with the persecution of these offenders. Cyber laws have paved the way for these persecutions to happen but there are still loop holes in them. Lastly, I think cyber technology has impacted the interactions by putting a barrier between. For the offender it might not feel like a crime like it would if the same offences were committed in person. There is the protection of the screen and the victim to them is just a picture on the screen. It almost takes the humanity out of the equation and may make the offender feel like it isn’t real. Takin the humanity out of it almost makes it feel unreal to the offender and allow them to feel like their actions are not having the same impact as it would if they were committing the same crimes in person.
