Explain how the principles of science relate to cybersecurity.

To understand the foundation to cybersecurity enhancements it’s crucial to acknowledge the principles of social science, which include Determinism, Objectivity, Relativism, Parsimony, Skepticism. And Ethical Neutrality. Relativity in a cybersecurity perspective means that different security measures and threats can vary based on many different variables, but ultimately these components are related. The next concept is Objectivity, which encourages cyber security professionals to base decisions strictly on advanced knowledge instead of personal feelings and opinions. Similar to that would be empiricism, meaning that data driven approaches should be taken when identifying vulnerabilities and threats to ensure that the knowledge gained is based on empirical research. When conducting research, ethical neutrality can be kept in mind as it promotes adhering to the ethical standards in data collection and testing. Another principle that applies to cybersecurity is parsimony that expresses simplicity in solutions and explanation. Lastly, determinism states that all events are connected through their influence from other events therefore allowing for patterns and behaviors to be predicted. These principles allow for cybersecurity understand and develop insight for solutions and create more secure policies and procedure.
