Week 2 – Journal Entry 2

The main ideas from science like empiricism, determinism, parsimony, and objectivity are super useful in cybersecurity. Empiricism means using real data and past experiences, like previous hacks, to figure out how to stay safe. Determinism is about knowing that things usually follow patterns, so if we understand how hackers act, we can stop them before they get too far. Parsimony is all about keeping things simple not overcomplicating things with fancy tech that might just cause more problems. And objectivity means making decisions based on facts, not guesses or feelings, so we can make sure we’re doing what’s best for security. These ideas help cybersecurity professionals keep things safe and easy to manage.
