Week 6 – Journal Entry 6

Professor, I was a bit hesitant to click on unfamiliar websites, but I managed to come up with this.

You can spot fake websites by looking for a few red flags. First, check the URL—fake sites often have misspelled or weird domain names. Real websites usually look well-designed with good-quality images, while fake ones often look messy or outdated. Another thing to look for is security; real sites have HTTPS encryption with a padlock symbol, but fake ones might not. Watch out for spelling mistakes and awkward language—real sites usually have proper grammar. Fake sites also don’t provide real contact info and may ask for strange payment methods. Lastly, check reviews and trust seals—fraudulent sites often use fake reviews or fake security logos. Always double-check details to stay safe online.
