While I think the article has over sensationalized a little the impact of social cybersecurity, I
overall agree with it’s message. The context of social cybersecurity that is talked about in this
article is not something I have considered before or seen defined like that. An example of
something like this potentially having already happened is outside state actors trying to use
social media to influence American elections. Like what we may have seen during the 2020
election. In which supposed bots, especially on facebook, were trying to promote one candidate
or the other, and there are current theories that outside state actors are working even now to
undermine trust.
