For this leadership artifact, I chose an assignment from my internship at Virginia Tech where I had to lead my group in creating a small 3D game. This project pushed me outside my comfort zone in a meaningful way. I usually don\u2019t take the lead in group settings because I tend to do better as a listener \u2014 observing, understanding the team\u2019s strengths, and supporting others from the background. However, this assignment required someone to step up and provide direction, and I took on that responsibility.<\/p>\n

As the project lead, I organized the team, divided tasks, and made sure everyone understood the goals and deadlines. Because the project involved design, coding, and testing, I had to keep communication clear and make sure each part of the game came together smoothly. I also had to stay patient and calm when technical issues came up, helping teammates troubleshoot problems and keeping the project moving forward.<\/p>\n

This artifact is important to me because it shows that even though leadership isn\u2019t always my first instinct, I can lead confidently and effectively when the situation calls for it. I learned how to balance listening with decision\u2011making, how to guide a team without overshadowing their ideas, and how to maintain structure while still encouraging creativity.<\/p>\n

Leading the creation of a 3D game taught me that leadership is not just about taking charge \u2014 it\u2019s about supporting others, communicating clearly, and helping the team reach a shared goal. This experience strengthened my confidence and showed me that I can step into a leadership role when needed and help a project succeed from start to finish.<\/p>\n
