Cybercrime and criminal justice may have certain different aspects and functioning, but both disciplines serve the same purpose which is investigating crime and looking for evidence. Cybercrime investigates crime like cyberattacks and incidents that have occured over the internet. These investigations are helpful for a number of reasons. In cybercrime investigations, investigators try to gather evidence for how the cyberattack entered the computer system as well as how much damage or stolen data and information did the hackers initating the cyberattack have done toward the computer system. By this, investigators can show proof of the cyberattack occuring and may get compensated for damages as well as what new tools, measures, and guidelines need to be implemented to lower the risk of cyberattacks. Criminal Justice investigates physical crimes like murder and robbery to gather evidence and identify the right suspect for their crimes. Both cybercrime and criminal justice disciplines investigates crimes and gather information for evidence and motives. This overlap relates to other disciplines because in cybercrime hackers target individuals which plays into the psychology discipline in cybersecurity also known as cyberpsychology which can affect individuals if their device gets hacked by hackers and they end up stealing information and funds. Another discipline this relates to is business and management as in cybercrime hackers initiate cyberattacks against businesses and companies as well, causing them to lose funds, private information, and data which can put the company or business into shambles and destroy their reputation. With the similarities in cybercrime and criminal justice, this shows how they overlap each other as well as learn different theories and concepts from each other when investigating crimes and identifying the right suspects to convict when gather and putting together evidence. This is how cybercrime and criminal justice overlap each other as well as overlap other disciplines.
