In the current era with technological advancement and resources all around the world, the more cyber-attacks and risks there are. Cyber-attacks can have heavy impact on a nation’s critical infrastructure, power grid, businesses, industries, and government organizations. The United States has to deal with a great number of cybersecurity risks that could potentially damage our society. One major cybersecurity risk that the United States deals with is Ransomware attacks. Primarily, a ransomware attacks’ goal is financial gain mainly from organizations. The Hacker finds way to steal sensitive and private data, then encrypts it. After encrypting the stolen data, they make contact with the organization to communicate that they will give back the data, for a certain price. These certain cyber-attacks can easily detriment a company, causing the loss of a large amount of money. Another major cybersecurity risk are malicious actors. Malicious actors can be detrimental to the United States’ society. They carry out numerous types of attacks to steal information from businesses or government organizations, make a financial gain for themselves, or to control daily and essential services in the United States. Malicious actors can be in the United States as well as other countries outside the United States that look to gain access to sensitive information or control daily services. Other than the United States, Bangladesh has significant cybersecurity risks themselves. One of Bangladesh’s cybersecurity risks is religious and ideological hacker groups. These hacker groups mainly target government organizations to control services and gain information. The hackers are able to execute these attacks by applying numerous DDos attacks spreaded all over different organizations. Bangladesh has other cybersecurity risks to like phishing, ransomware, and web-based attacks. Both the United States and Bangladesh are easily susceptible to common cyberattacks like phishing, ransomware, data breaches, and identity theft. But the United States has a stronger economy and critical infrastructure than Bangladesh, meaning the United States damage toward them from cyberattacks is not as much compared to Bangladesh.
