Engineers play a critical role in cybersecurity. They create networks, install software and hardware, tests and run risk management for companies and businesses. Engineers make the internet and networks safer in many ways. One way is creating new networks and fix outdated networks. By creating new networks and fix outdated networks, hackers wouldn’t be able to easily access a company or business computer network because engineers are constant changing and fixing networks to make them stronger and be able to resist simple and petty cyberattacks, as well as ensure the safety of employees and their private and sensitive data and information in the computer system. Another way that engineers make networks safe is install tools and software to track cyberattacks and the path that the malware the hacker installed took. By tracking cyberattacks, this gives the opportunity to learn what the IT team did wrong as far as implementing a plan or framework for cyber incidents and attacks, redesign their plan from their mistake and new found solutions toward the problem, and run tests and risk management to see how effective their plan or framework is when it comes to a real cyberattack. In the end, the IT team has a improved and effective plan. Lastly, engineers make networks safer by installing and implementing protection tools and software into computer systems. One protection tool that very effective in a firewall. Firewalls are protection systems that detect as well as decide which certain users and networks go in and out of the computer system. Firewalls prevent unauthorized and dangerous networks and users from entering computer systems and initiating a cyberattack to access information or control the computer system. Encryption and access control provide protection toward computer system by ensure that only certain users can access certain tools and roles or receive messages from another user.
