A network security engineer’s job is to implement new tactics and monitor the security infrastructure of programs and technological devices. Their main goal is to create a safe environment for users. This is huge in the cybersecurity field, allowing programs and technological devices to be monitored and updated for the future. The engineers can apply virus protection, test weak points on the network platform, and determine what is needed to create an even safer network for users in the future. By testing and processing results each time, they can figure out what works and what does not to move on in creating and implementing the best safety tactics for the network. Major threats such as malware and viruses continue to occur. They put up firewalls, routers, and tools to reach the goal of protecting the network from being breached (Girardin et al., 2023). Engineers have a goal of keeping up with the times allowing them to work on their knowledge and what they can do and add to improve the network safety for all devices and programs. The criminal justice system and cybercrime overlap in a way of something being a crime. The criminal justice system encompasses many crimes committed many different ways illegally. Cybercrime tunes in on an illegal action done on technology such as computers and phones for example. The crime is being committed in a particular way getting put into a category of being a cybercrime. All the cybercrimes use networks, the internet, and electronical devices to complete the crime of an illegal action. This also entails so many cybercrimes like phishing, identity credential theft, and blackmailing for example (What is cybercrime?, 2022). This relates to disciplines in this class proving that crimes are so diverse. It also shows how the evolvement is taking place creating an even stronger need for cybersecurity tools, knowledge, and support. The criminal justice system is used for evidence and assisting convictions and finding cybercriminals as well. This is a huge discipline discussed throughout from everything being done by cyber-attacks to be considered in the justice system.
