Collection Analysis

Source: Collection Analysis

The Collection Analysis Assignment was a culminating project of three scaffolded assignments (Overview of the Collection, Random Sampling, and Content Mapping). In this analysis, I examine the collection with regard to staffing, the demographics of the student body, the existing collection policy, my own definition of a well-developed collection, and how well the collection reflects the users. The following areas of the collection were identified as targeted areas for further development:

  1. Increased purchasing of graphic novels
  2. Increased “class sets” of cooperative board games
  3. Increased purchasing of fiction and nonfiction titles featuring Black protagonists and/or written by Black authors
