This first images is a photo from Pixabay. Using Tuxpi, I added a photo to painting filter and a brushstrokes edge to the orginal photo.

This would be a great tool to use with my students for research assignments. I would need to teach them how to access the Creative Commons images, but I think after they are given some time to explore the images and play around with the filters and other edits, they could create something unique. In the past, my students have been very proud whenever they create an informative product.

I chose this picture because at first glance it seems like a scene I would want to step into. But after looking at the picture, I realized that I would be too nervous to have a book that close to water, for fear of dropping and ruining it in the water. Also, I would get very uncomfortable pretty quickly sitting on that rock. Despite all of that, it seems like a lovely place to visit…just maybe not as I am trying to read a book.

I think I would like to step into both of the pictures you picked. It’s interesting the story a person can think of or a feeling a person gets thinking about themselves in a photo. The first picture effects add homey-ness to the photo. And the second picture is interesting because to me it looks both relaxing but also a little cold with the shadows of the rocks.

I absolutely love the filter and brushstroke edits you made on your first photo. It brings a peaceful, warm feeling when you look at it. The second picture looks like an amazing place to visit. Just like the first photo posted, it gives that vibe of peace and calm.

Wow- I would love to be in that second photo you chose. The water looks absolutely unreal and makes me feel very jealous of the person in the photo.

Your first photo looks like my typical Sunday- snacks, coffee, and work!

I used Tuxpi as well. I liked the ease of use and the editing options were enough for me to get the desired results.
Woman-beach: This is a serene image. On my ‘rough’ days, I dream of being somewhere beautiful with a book in my hand.
Coffee-book-cookie: I like the editing on this image. It looks like a painting that be hung in a home library.

I love both pictures. I think the first one is my favorite; I love the painting effects; it looks cozy! I would never leave my coffee in an open cup like that because I would spill it, but it looks nice in the picture!

Exactly! Why do they make it look so inviting to read in places that you know in reality are not good places to read? Who is comfortable hunched over on a rock reading? It is pretty though.

I like the idea of turning pictures into paintings. I did not see that option, but I will have to remember it.

  7. Interesting in the second photo, the blurred palm leaves in the forefront of the picture give a feeling that the viewer is “sneaking a peek” at the woman. An interesting perspective and use of the photo tools.
