In order for stakeholders to recognize the vital role school librarians play in a school community, librarians need to be able to evaluate the needs and concerns of the stakeholders within a school community. This advocacy plan supported the English content teachers’ concerns about decreasing students’ literacy rate, lack of participation during free reading programs, and lack of staff knowledge and use of the digital resources available. By creating such an advocacy plan, a school librarian will clearly demonstrate the importance of their role by showing awareness of stakeholders’ concerns and supporting them in addressing those concerns.
