Makerspace areas in schools are continuing to grow and becoming more and more popular. Some schools have STEAM labs that classes take turns using. However, makerspaces are becoming more popular in the library and are a fun hands on way for kids to continue to learn, encourages creativity, and promotes social skills. The link below is an example of fun Maker Faire stations that students can rotate through. The idea of this is to hold a Maker Faire at school as a family or after school event. This was a group assignment where we created an event planned around the nursery rhyme, Jack and Jill.

The photos below are a few of the Makerspace stations that I have set up in my library. Because of our fixed schedule and limited space, we open up the Makerspace stations once month or as they fit for specific lessons. The students love the stations and I love to see them engaged socially and creatively.
