Civil Rights: Because You Matter is a teacher guide for 7th grade Social Studies, English, and Visual Arts instructors to collaborate with the librarian. The paired text guide provides discussion questions for a picture book and nonfiction text, SOL activities, author and illustrator information, websites, and further reading materials for both students and teachers. This product shows the multiple ways the library can connect to other departments, as well as the value in using picture books to introduce concepts in middle school.
