Welcome to my Bitmoji Library! Please, click on the picture above to enjoy the interactive features (each fairy tale book is linked to a read aloud). Bitmoji Libraries are a great way to share things virtually with style. Creating a space can also help students get to know you a little better. Libraries can incorporate various services offered by the library into their virtual space, which allows more accessibility. When creating my library, I decided to a have a focus—fairy tales. Third grade uses different versions of the same fairy tale, like Cinderella, to compare and contrast characters or other story elements. These tales are also fabulous for teaching theme. A librarian or teacher could create different themed Bitmoji rooms to allow students a unique way to engage in their learning for a particular unit.
Feel free to stay a while and listen to some wonderful stories!
Constance, I also taught third grade and had the students comparing different versions of fairy tales. Another way to use the Bitmoji libraries is as a way for students to access the read-aloud books to listen to on their own. Instead of using whole-group time to read a book to the class, I would have them listen on their own and use the saved time for longer class discussion about the book. The Bitmoji library was also handy if a student was absent or needed to hear the book again. I would love to try to create a math Bitmoji library; that is something I haven’t seen many teachers do. Included in it for elementary students could be some of the Number Rock songs that the students like so much.
