These lesson plans were developed to highlight the role of the librarian in two different collaborative efforts. The first plan reflects a collaboration between the librarian and a ninth grade English teacher in a virtual setting. It is literacy based, focusing on students reflecting on their personal interests in order to select a biography to read for their course. The second plan is a part of the Stripling Inquiry Model paired with a high school Latin II teacher. The librarian engages the class in an introduction to new material related to the Colosseum and gladiators, where the goal is for students to begin their inquiry process by establishing questions to pursue in their forthcoming research. Both lessons are designed to take less than 30 minutes.
