The Gonzales Library has a lot to offer to it community! They definitely are making sure they are looking out into the community to see what it needs. When I first saw the outside of the library, I honestly thought it was the covers of books, but I like the representation that they are using that they are all threads of a community coming together. I would honestly like to attend their program “Tummy Tales” because I love anything where I’m going to learn about cooking lol.

I can definitely understand how you saw the covers of books in the front of the library. You’re right, it does look like that. “Tummy Tales” did look good. I’m glad they had partnered with that local author.

The Gonzales Branch library certainly looks like a lovely and creative library. The “ideaLAB” is certainly an attention grabber for me, I’d love to imagine how often most patrons use the 3-D printer if they ever get the chance. I think it’s also awesome knowing there were 34 episodes of a podcast within the studio with some of the episodes being in the Spanish language.

Always remarkable seeing how much a different library works with you as well as help connect others.

Yes! Remarkable is a great word for it. I thought about leaving the studio/podcast out of the presentation since it is temporarily closed. I left it in because it was so unusual.

The Gonzales Branch Library seems like such a celebration of the people that make up the community that the library services! From the architecture to The Plaza Program and services like the ideaLAB and the recording studio, this library was made to be used by its community members. I understand that there are other culture in that community, but it is striking to see how this library incorporates elements of the Latinx culture into so many aspects of it. The free scanning services is to helpful, especially with that being an easy option to submit important documents to organizations.

Yes, the library seems to be such an integral part of the community. I’m hoping to visit it someday–I do get attached to the things I research!!
