Practicum

For this assignment I spent 8 hours at the Barbara Bush Library interviewing librarians and program specialists to learn about the OPAC system, running and utilizing reports, understanding the patron’s side of accessing materials, and examining the MARC records. Assessing the ease with which patrons could access materials based on signage, shelving, and catalogue familiarity was done through observations and playing the role of a patron. The assignment brought forth some questions and ideas on how this branch can better serve the community.
