Kat, I feel your pain! 🙂 I tried making the dice and found it hard to do as well. I’m curious, was your 15 year old able to help or was it a struggle for him to work this project too? 🙂
Lisa, my 15 year old, who has taken classes on 3D printing and was on a robotics team, had to google the instructions to see if we were doing it right. She decided I was having problems with grouping the images. Of course, when she did it, it worked. But not for me!
I too feel your pain but I’m still glad I gave it a try. I did the numbers on the die multiple times and never figured out how to make them flat! I definitely think it would have been easier to figure out if I had taken a class!
Kat, I understand your frustration. I felt the same way for the first 30 minutes. I couldn’t figure out how to align shapes properly or make holes. I’m glad you didn’t give up!
At first, I also had a tough time with the Tinkercad workspace. Once I learned how to move around the object by holding right click on the mouse it became easier to see how two objects intersected. Still, this is a very paired down application and isn’t meant to create complex objects. You work for a school right? Do you have a 3d printer?

If my school owns a 3D printer, I do not know about it. Thankfully, we have a IT person, so I am not in charge of those things. At my last school job though I had to handle all the technology.
