Collection Development Plan

This collection development plan was created for Mary D. Pretlow Library in LIBS 658: Knowledge Resources: Planning, Selecting, & Managing Collections.  After completing an environmental scan, I identified three areas in which the collection needed to improve.  I examined the needs for more Spanish language fiction books, additional juvenile books about Black/African American characters, and the access to library cards without a parent signature for patrons 13+.  This assignment includes a three-year plan for each improvement, describing the changes and assessment measures for each.

Student Learning Objectives:

1. Create innovative responses to the needs and interests of diverse and global communities.

4. Access, synthesize, and evaluate information to assist information seekers.
