The American Association of School Librarians is an excellent organization to be a part of because it focuses on national standards with a learner framework that targets inquiry, inclusion, collaboration, curation, exploration, and engagement (American Association of School Librarians, 2018).&nbsp; I look forward to attending AASL conferences in the future to stay connected with LIS professionals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\">American Association of School Librarians. Not only does it keep me abreast of trends in K-12 settings, but also trends in higher education, which will certainly come in handy as I\u2019m preparing my students for life after high school. Not only is it a great way to stay current on library events and the political climate\u2019s effect on the field, but it\u2019s also a great way to expand your resources.
