Sorry to hear your students lost out on some field trips during the pandemic. I remember visiting D.C. when I was in 6th grade. We traveled all the way from Vermont and I still remember how much fun I had and learned. It’s hard to replace the social aspect in a virtual field trip though. The best memories I have are staying in the hotel and spending time with my friends. Still, these virtual experiences are a good option for giving students background knowledge that hopefully, they will remember more than just reading about the city.
