Creative Commons & Image Citations

Learning to cite images feels a little overwhelming but I believe once I have a better understanding of how to stay within the various licensing parameters it’ll become easier. Citations aside, this was my first foray into the Creative Commons world and I am really excited to have found this treasure trove!

Here is a picture I found in the Creative Commons of a person pursuing a book sale. It was a picture uploaded to Flickr from Doug Wheller (@Doug88888) and then was shared in the Creative Commons.

Using BigHugeLabs photo software I was able to take a different image I found on Creative Commons (checked the licensing to be sure I can make edits) and edited it to create a faux magazine cover. It was loads of fun and I can see where an editing tool like this would be an engaging way to have students enhance reports and research projects.
