Presentation Tools

Prezi: Came across as a more streamlined and modern way to video conference while presenting. I feel that it would look more professional to the audience having both you and the slides show at the same time as well as be able to see and answer your audience. This is not a tool I am familiar with yet but I think if I needed to present virtually, this is an app I would try out.

Haiku Deck: I played around with this tool and really liked its simplicity. While I do enjoy creating slides, this was a great way to import the meat of a presentation and let the app work it’s magic. I can see this app also being of use to me in the upcoming assignments. I did put together a quick slide using this program. Again, it’s rather minimal in stye options I do love that it searches and finds the Creative Commons photos for me and that alone is hugely helpful. Click here to see the slides.

S’mores: I am somewhat familiar with this app and think it is a great communication tool for any school, club, or library newsletter. While I can definitely see it having a place as way to communicate with staff or parents, I do not think I would use it for the upcoming assignments.

  1. Lisa,

I definitely also got the same intuitive feeling with Prezi in that it incorporates the most modern and contemporary forms of digital presentation tools for professional projects. I personally got somewhat overwhelmed by all the different backgrounds and themes for customizing slides for a presentation through Prezi. I felt I needed more of a basic approach towards digital presentations which I why I also loved Haiku Deck—because of it’s simplicity as well as the image search feature which provides appropriate photos according to Creative Commons. Like you experienced, I also felt that this is a great resource to utilize for slides and future project presentations.

I also appreciate your insight regarding the S’mores presentation tool resource as well. This is not one of the tools I choose to explore, but I feel that we have similar experiences in terms of which presentation and curation tools seemed to work best for us! I loved the slides you created for ‘Libraryland!’ It truly is paradise for literacy!

    Great work!
