I was a bit frustrated when I tried to sign up for the free account, it kept not accepting my password even though I tried multiple times. So this link is only good for 7 days. Voki would be a nice tool for students that were doing book reports as they could create the avatar like the character they imagined plus students could choose the voki voices or record their own voice.

https://voca.ro/1lbPzULGNzSQ

Vocarro is a simple voice recorder tool. Vocaroo allows you to create a QR code, embed or download your recording. This would allow a student to add their recording to a digital presentation, a blog, or voice over on a video project assignment. There was also an upload button, this would be helpful if you had a recording one might want to link into a QR code to put on a paper report. I could see using the QR code in the library for an introduction to the library scavenger hunt. How fun would that be.

https://www.audiopal.com//pickup/?message_id=6387

Audiopal totes an embedded ability for your webpage or blog. WordPress does not support Audiopal as a site to upload material. Audiopal says you can create an interactive website using their software. So, in my opinion Audiopal could be fun, but probably more useful when used with their platform. I am not sure I would use this tool in a classroom setting.

Podcasts!!!!

I have never created one myself, but I love listening to them. Just like Chimes Radio says in it’s blog, audio books and podcasts can help develop focusing skills and can be done while multitasking. Chimes Radio (n.d.) I like to listen to audio books and podcasts while driving, cleaning and cooking dinner. Chimes Radio did say it was also possible to listen to audio while doing homework, I haven’t gotten that good at multitasking, where I can listen and read something else, concentrate on writing my blog posts or even reading a recipe.

I just finished listening to Library Land Loves, a podcast I found on the Book Riot’s post on “13 MUST-HEAR LIBRARIAN PODCASTS”, (Gooding-Call,2020). I really enjoyed the podcast, and would recommend to anyone interested in listening to librarians, book reviews, top 5 library related lists and inspirational interviews. I listened to episode 201: Top 5 Back to School Tips for Your Library! I took away some good tips and enjoyed the conversation between two librarians Michelle Arbuckle and Diana Maliszewski. I enjoyed the podcast so much, that I am about to go listen to another episode.

References

Chimes Radio.
