My artifact collection includes the following samples of my MLIS work:
Collaboration Unit: Researching With Power
This collaboration unit was created to introduce 9th-grade students to the Big 6 Inquiry process while they completed a research project in their Language Arts class.
Paired Text: The Water Princess and Why Water’s Worth It
This paired text was created to supplement a water conservation unit in Third Grade. It contains many activities that enable teachers to guide students through various types of text and information to cover many standards of learning in Third Grade.
This was an extensive collection planning that I completed at Strawbridge Elementary School’s library. It demonstrates my ability to evaluate a library based on geographical and collection demographics, access to resources that the library has including what is owned, borrowed, or able to be accessed, the library’s collection development plan, and the actual collections that the library houses
Stakeholder’s Presentation: Readers Are Leaders
This presentation allows stakeholders to learn about my “Readers Are Leaders” project to help put more books in the homes of students at Strawbridge Elementary.
This pathfinder was designed to help Second Grade students explore a variety of resources to gain a better understanding of the Standards of Learning associated with the Magnet Unit.
I wrote this letter to the editor of the Virginia Pilot to advocate for school library month and to encourage stakeholders to visit the library and explore all that it offers.
This smart goal was created to collaborate with second-grade teachers to help students meet grade-level standards in summarizing.
