Ethics

In LIBS674 Management Leadership in Library and Information Services, one of the modules was devoted to Ethics in Leadership.  Wearing the hat of a library leader, we were asked to address three scenarios that presented ethical dilemmas. We had to consider responsible librarianship alongside tricky contemporary social issues like library access for the unhoused and unwashed and assisting teenage patrons interested in building explosives. I relied a lot on ALA materials from the Committee on Professional Ethics and their Code of Ethics as my guideposts.  I look forward to doing a lot more reading in this thought-provoking area.
