Grant Proposal

The purpose of this deliverable for Management and Leadership in Library and Information Studies  (LIBS  764 ) was to secure grant funding for a new library program.  Before reaching the grant  proposal writing stage, I had to conduct a needs assessment and mobilize support for my idea– a new program called “Speak Up Speak Out in English”,  targeted at the working poor with limited English Language skills.  I then researched potential funding sources and identified the ALA American Dream Literacy initiative.  It seeks to help public libraries establish adult literacy programs for enhancing basic education and fostering workforce development.  To complete the proposal, I had to strictly  comply with grantor guidelines while meticulously describing goals,  target beneficiaries, collaborators, outreach plans, and timelines.
