Impact Project

Description:

The Impact Project was my final project for LIBS 668: Internship in Libraries and Information Workplaces, where I was a summer intern at the South Norfolk Memorial Library. I was tasked with creating an impact on my community through my work at the library. I chose to focus my attention on increasing teen attendance at youth programs held at the library by creating more fun and interesting activities for teens. I used my background knowledge in Fine Arts to create and run programs that merge literature with art to instill a love for reading in teens.

Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) Met:

1. Create innovative responses to the needs and interests of diverse and global communities

2. Demonstrate leadership attributes for a variety of information environments

3. Interpret and apply basic and applied research to improve their professional practice
