Sandbox #4 Audio

I have always found it interesting to read juvenile and young adult fiction. I choose to listen to the Podcast “Books Between Podcast by Corinna Allen (Allen, 2019). This episode was a review of her top twenty books that year. This is a great informational tool for parents and students to determine what book would be their next read.  I was familiar with the titles; however, she did give a brief overview of each book. Coincidentally one of the books was one of my top circulated books this year.

I explored Voki’s tools first, I watched the introduction video which gives an overview of the tools you can use. I think this tool can be used in a variety of lessons that would allow the scholars to explore using different avatar’s that can represent themselves.

Here is my Voki: https://tinyurl.com/2dpzekbp

I choose the above voice, because it was the only one who pronounced my last name correctly. This is a statement I use to calm my scholars down when they are too loud, works like a charm.

Clyp has a basic membership of two dollars a month. I think is better to find a tool that is free. I did view a tutorial and listened to the sample on the site. The directions seem simple with how to record the sound. I am unsure how this tool would benefit my students and how I could incorporate it into my lessons.

AudioPal was like Voki, you needed to type your words in the text-box and then it would be translated and spoken. The instructions are simple, I believe scholars could use this with little instruction. I think this a great tool for when you have a substitute and can email your students their assignments with verbal directions. The textbook only gives 600 characters so the directions should be short and concise.

Your Voki was cute! 🙂 That’s interesting that an accent was the only way for the program to say your name right. 🙂

Boston Terriers are one of my favorite breeds of dogs. Why did you choose that for your Voki? I think it’s a good choice for kids too, not just dog lovers.

Careful with your in-text and ending citations. It’s easy to overlook those details, I know I have once or twice.
