
The Maryland Library Association is a great resource for all librarians. On the site you can find information on any legislative changed concerning librarians. You can also find any training opportunities and meetings that are going on in the state. I visit the Job line tab, it has listing for all fields of librarians in the state of Maryland. The key mission is to advocate principles and issues related to librarianship, as I am entering this field, I want an organization that is concerned for the field. There are also events that are hosted as well as internship and grant information.
Black Caucus American Library Association
The Black Caucus American Library Association is dedicated to building insights for the community of black librarians. The site is dedicated to equipping librarians and students with resources to assist them in the field. There is a tab dedicated for scholarships and grant opportunities.
Maryland Association of School Librarians

The Maryland Association of School Librarians is dedicated supporting school librarians in Maryland. This is a volunteer organization with experience librarians who assist in the educating of new school librarians. I find the information on the site and from the annual conference’s valuable in my field. Also, they host the Black-Eyed Susan Award which is a student choice award for the state of Maryland .

We Need Diverse Books is an organization that promotes each child should have the opportunity to see themselves in a book. There is also a blog, which gives a spotlight to new diverse books and current happenings in the literary world. The information on the site is also communicated on twitter and keeps librarians abreast of current happenings regarding diversity in books.
A Media Specialist’s Guide to the Internet
A Media Specialist’s Guide to the Internet, is a great blog that caters to school librarians/media specialist. There is an extensive list of resources pertaining to technology that can be used with elementary students. As a future school librarian technology is a constant, I want to stay abreast of all information relevant to educating my students.
School Library Journal is a source for school librarians and those in the information field who with students of all ages. Some articles are geared towards advocacy in the school systems regarding librarians. There is also book recommendations for various relevant topics through the school year. I visit this site frequently for inspiration.
The Horn Book has been established for over fifty years and is a notable resource for children’s literature. All book awards for the current year is noted on the site for all librarians to access. There are reviews of children’s hardcover literature but notable librarians and information professionals.
This is a blog from a retired librarian and content creator who advocates for school librarians. The topics covered include technology, advocacy and diversity , which are all current topics covered by librarians. Also this is information on lessons and makerspaces in the school library.
