Cybersecurity engineers have many different labels, such as IT security engineers or data security engineers. No matter the label, these engineer’s roles are to troubleshoot, identify unauthorized access, and offer solutions regarding a companies’ networks related to cybersecurity. Engineers have daily tasks that they do. Their first task is responding to any network or system security breaches or viruses. The second is planning, implementing, managing, monitoring, and upgrading security measures for the protection of a company’s data. Lastly, performing penetration testing and identifying vulnerabilities that a system and network might have. 

Engineers can make the cyber networks safer by using their knowledge to teach others or employees offering systems security engineering and related programs. Overall, engineers are essentially the people who protect sensitive data from malicious actors. They also have to constantly watch over the companies networks and servers in case of data breaches. Because of this, they are alerted when a breach or data attack happens. They can also educate employees, especially since one of the number one malicious hacking attacks is phishing attacks. Employees are infamous for clicking malicious emails or using weak passwords. Because of this knowledge, small and big businesses are less vulnerable to hacking attacks. 

In conclusion, because technology is becoming more and more dependent mainly in the corporate world, engineers are needed more than ever. If they do not update the system or watch over the networks, this gives hackers and malicious actors a chance to steal data. The reason they have been hacking into corporations more because there is less security up until recently.
