When it comes to cybersecurity and measures put in place to limit cybersecurity risk, the United States of America is one of the top countries in the world. Different studies have different ways of measuring what countries are the most vulnerable and most secure when it comes to cybersecurity. With that being said, the United States of America is consistently listed among the top countries in the world for security in a cyberattack and cybersecurity in general. One advantage the United States has over some other countries is a stronger and more advanced legal framework that outlines cybersecurity measures. One of the most widespread cybersecurity attacks and methods used to target individuals and businesses in the United States of America is phishing attacks. Spam is also one of the top sources for cybersecurity risks because it is more than just a hassle to deal with, but most spam today is sent with a botnet which allows cyber criminals easy access to control a network or device from an independent and remote location. When comparing the United States of America to a country such as China, both are competitors and adversaries on the cybersecurity stage. China has gained in cybersecurity power in the last decade or two in ways that most other countries have not. While China is a big power in the cybersecurity game, that also means they pose a threat to the United States of America. Several previous presidential administrations in the United States have accused China of participating in cyber warfare attacks against the United States. It can be said that the United States has developed the power and ability to participate in cyber attacks. In the world we live in today, every country has cybersecurity risks, no matter how strong and secure their cybersecurity network is. With that being said, different countries do have different risks and pose different threats to the United States, just as the United States poses different risks and threats to different countries.
