The topic I chose to focus on was next generation vaccines. The topic was given as a suggestion by Dr. Osgood. Vaccines are a hot topic in society these days due to the lingering Covid-19 pandemic. Ive also have had conversation with other biology students concerning new vaccine technologies. People seem to be skeptical about how safe these vaccines are, which is understandable.

I would saying Microbiology, Bacteriology, and Public Speaking will be most helpful of the courses I’ve taken in completing the seminar project. Those two biology classes give me a better understanding of my topic and the ability to understand the information while doing research. The public speaking course has prepared me for the presentation. I am confident in my ability to give a good presentation.

I believe that I am a decent writer. I feel like I struggle with writing in a professional tone. Most of the time when I write papers, I write like how I would saying in a person-person conversation. That way of writing isn’t the most effective for scientific writing.
