Reflection

I have always loved writing and, coming into this class, I did not think that my passion would change at all. I was correct. My love for writing has gone unfazed throughout the semester. There have been many opportunities provided in this class that allowed me to practice writing using various methods and prompts that strengthened my writing skills. Through the weeks spent in English Composition 211, I have come to the understanding that I am more of a creative writer, rather than a formal writer- having heard that my style of writing may come off as biased due to the fact that I use very description words. Creative writing is understandably my path, considering the fact that I am majoring in Fine Arts. While my focus is in art studies, however, there will always be the need for a well written statement or essay.

Working with WordPress to create a digital portfolio for my work was difficult in the beginning, but the use of this site as a tool to keep my papers organized is a valuable asset to my long career in writing. This portfolio will preserve my papers for reference in future classes, and that is the most important aspect of creating a digital portfolio. When all is said and done, I will continue to use research methods that I have learned in class as well as the formatting process that I have perfected while working in this class to better my writing in the future. With enough practice, I hope to one day be able to confidently write a timed essay  without feeling anxious and going through writer’s block.
