SOA – Change Management Process

As we know, change is a never-ending cycle that affects every aspect of life. When change comes there will always be positive and negative reactions to it. Regarding significant cybersecurity-related technology changes, there will definitely be positive and negative reactions. There are plenty of potential reactions to change many of which depend on the situation that causes the change. Potential reactions could include employee resistance to technology changes, employee job security worries from possible downsizing, and other events that could take place.

There are some ways that I would take to minimize the impact of adverse reactions within the change management process. The first technique to utilize is proper communication with employees of the organization. Explaining what is happening to the company/organization and how it will affect the employees and their jobs will reduce confusion and fear. This will also allow the employees to understand what is being changed technology-wise and how to properly utilize it. Here is an example:

A company is introducing new software and hardware systems to increase productivity and efficiency. Many employees are resistant to this change since they are comfortable with the old software and hardware systems. By properly communicating what the changes are and expertly training in how to easily utilize the new technology will decrease the resistance. The employees should then be able to ease into the new technology and easily utilize it to the best of their ability.
